- KSLTA Officiating course evokes good response

The first ever state level officiating course conducted by the Karnataka State Tennis Association was successfully conducted with over 30 aspiring candidates attending the two-day course which concluded at the KSLTA on Sunday.
The course catered to all the three verticals of tennis officiating – Chair umpiring, Line umpiring and Refereeing. Candidates from across the states including Bengaluru, Tumkur, Davangere, Chitradurga, Bellary, Dharwad, Mandya, Gulbarga, Mangalore, Raichur and Ramanagara.
Supreeth Kadavigere, a qualified chair umpire bronze batch and tutor for the course has officiated in many international events including the Grand Slams such as the Wimbledon, Australian Open and US Open and also marquee events such as the Dubai Open, the Qatar Open amongst others, was the chief instructor. Various topics such as Rule of Tennis, Duties and Procedures of Officials, AITA Junior / Pro circuit tournament procedures, AITA Tournament Referee and draw scheduling, Chair / line / Roving umpiring and Role play.
The successful candidates were given a certificate and will be considered to officiate at the AITA/State ranking events. Further, interested officials will be given a chance to apply for international events conducted in Karnataka.
