Bangalore lad Stephen Dylan, who started playing tennis at the age of three has achieved some phenomenal success early in his career. Today at the KSLTA, the Deens Academy student who had represented India in the Smrikva Bowl in Pula Croatia in 2019, showed fourth seed Praneeth Chittepu Dora of Telangana with a 6-4, 6-3 victory in a pre-quarterfinal tie of the Boys U-12 category of the KSLTA Talent Series on the Tattvam Junior Tour. Incidentally, Stephen had also won a battle against Covid-19 virus in September last year and was out of action for over two months.

But the best match of the day featured third seed Thanish Vepanapalli and Arjun Manikanthan where both the players refused to let go and traded shot for shot until the former sneaked past the unseeded player 7-5, 7-5 in a match that lasted for over two hours.

In the Girl’s U-12 action, Karthika Padmakumar defeated sixth seed Agamya Chandra 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the last eight stage. Fifth seed Aylin Miriam Cornelio was in a shock as she was blanked 0-6 in the first set against Aahida Singh. However, she recovered just in time to win the next two sets with a similar margin of 6-4.
