Aryan Dhakshish who began as a qualifier showed the tournament favorite and Meer Fazal Ali of Tamil Nadu the door on his way to the Boys semifinals of the KSLTA-AITA U-12 CS 7 tennis tournament, an event on the Tattvam Junior Circuit at the KSLTA Courts here on Wednesday. In a superb display of his forehand skills, the Florida-based Bengaluru lad Aryan demolished the top seed 6-1, 6-1 and will meet fifth seed Likith Gowda in the semifinal. The latter quelled the challenge of Arjun Soori 7-6 (5), 6-2 in the semifinal.

 Tamil Nadu’s Rithik Jeyant almost emulated Aryan’s feat when he demolished second seed Prakaash Sarran 6-2, 6-2 to set up a last-four clash with eighth seed Yashah Raj, a 7-5, 6-3 winner over third seed Thanish Vepanapalli.

 Meanwhile in the Girls category, eighth seed Ritisha Choudhary halted the march of unheralded Sanmitha Harini of Tamil Nadu in straight sets 6-1, 6-0 to make it to the penultimate round. Ritisha will clash with another player from the neighbouring state Shravya Numburi who beat local lass and third seed Jeevika Channabyregowda 6-4, 6-1 in the first semifinal. Pooja Nagaraj continued her good run when she eliminated Telangana’s Yashitha Ereti to set up a bout with second seed Shrishti Kiran who blanked Aahida Singh 6-0, 6-0.
