Unheralded Pooja Nagaraj scripted an upset victory over fourth seed Karthika Padmakumar in straight sets in the girls category of the KSLTA-AITA U-12 CS 7 tennis tournament on the Tattva Junior Circuit that got underway at the KSLTA Courts here on Monday. The 11-year-old Bengaluru lass outwitted her fancied rival 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the pre-quarterfinals.

 The top seeds in both the categories – Meer Fazal Ali of Tamil Nadu and Thanu Vishwas of Karnataka sailed through their first rounds matches without much ado.
